Speaking to reporters for the first time after his much-discussed meeting with Sonia in Delhi recently, he, however, reiterated that they both spoke only about political issues concerning Karnataka.

“The UPA and the NDA are disintegrating day by day and there is a talk of fourth front taking shape. But the media turned a blind eye on these developments and made a big issue of my meeting with Sonia Gandhi. A section of the media projected both my father Deve Gowda and I as villains, and as if we have done a grave mistake by holding the meet,” he said.

On speculation that Gowda may not attend the Third Front meeting on May 18, Kumaraswamy said, “May 18 is his (Gowda) birthday. He will first visit Tirupati and from there he will fly to Delhi to attend the meeting.”
