Dharamveer airs on July 31 at 9 pm on Zee Cinema. In the movie, an astrologer informs Satpal Singh that his nephew will eventually kill him. When Satpal’s sister, Maharani Meenakshi, gives birth to twins, he has one thrown from the castle walls and replaces the second with his own son.

Years later, the two princes have grown up — one is Dharam, who is rescued by Sheroo, a bird. The second is Veer, who is brought up in the palace. Satpal finds out to his horror that his wife, Roopmati, had switched the children a second time, as a result of which he ended up abusing his own son.

Now, he plots with prince Sujan Singh, leader of the gypsies. Their goal is to create enmity between Dharam and Veer, have one kill the other in combat and subsequently hang the other. To start this, he has Lohar arrested and charged with mishandling Meenakshi’s carriage, has his own hands chopped off and now, Dharam is out for revenge — and he will destroy anyone who comes in his way.

Home of a legend

Rajesh Khanna was born in a small town called Burewala, near the industrial city of Faislabad — and although he spent the best years of his life in Mumbai, it seems that the townsfolk of his home have far from forgotten him. Apparently, the people of Burewala expressed sadness over the death of the legendry Indian film actor, who was born in Burewala on December 29, 1942.

The Khanna family’s old house, where Rajesh was born, still exists in H Block of the city. His father, Lala Heera Nand Khanna, was the first headmaster of M C Model High School, Burewala. He migrated to India after Partition and settled in Amritsar. Rajesh Khanna started his primary education at the local primary school. The Hindi words Jatin Nivas have been inscribed at the main gate of the family house as the real name of Rajesh Khanna was Jatin Khanna. Now, a Muslim family lives in the house.
