The women held the government responsible for the inhuman incident, which has made each and every citizen of the state to bow in shame. They demanded the accused be arrested and take stern action on them, who are misusing the name of Hindu organisations.

The protesters raised slogans against the government and submitted a memorandum to the deputy commissioner. Vedike convener Dr Bharathi Rajashekar, Banu Mushtaq, Nirmala Dev and others participated.

SFI protest

Students under Student Federation of India (SFI) demanded the accused in the Mangalore incident be arrested under Goonda Act.

Staging a protest in Hassan on Tuesday, they alleged that the government has failed in controlling such incidents in the state and women have no security.

They claimed that the accused destroying the peace in the name of Hindu organisations should be dealt with iron hands. Some rogues are attacking women in the name of moral policing and condemned the incident strongly.

SFI district secretary M G Pradeep, district secretary K S Manjunath and students participated in the protest.
