Police clueless over Fiza's death

Doctors who conducted post-mortem on Fiza Mohammed alias Anuradha Bali, whose decomposed body was found at her residence on Monday under mysterious circumstances, on Tuesday said there were no signs of any external injury on the body.

Much of it now hinges upon the report of the viscera that is expected to bring out the exact cause of her death. Even as the post-mortem report failed to unravel the mystery shrouding the death of reality-show famed Fiza Mohammed, the estranged ex-wife of former deputy chief minister Chander Mohan, the police is exploring all possible angles. It has not ruled out the possibility of murder in the case.

Meanwhile, relatives and friends cremated Fiza’s body in Chandigarh as per Hindu rituals. Fiza had converted to Islam, along with Chander Mohan, to facilitate their marriage. The police has questioned two local persons from a news channel in connection with the case on the basis of phone call details. Sources said that Fiza and these two persons had been frequently communicating with each other. “Our investigations are on. We are waiting for the viscera report,” Mohali police chief Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said.

Chander Mohan, meanwhile, has preferred to remain away from the entire controversy. He had reportedly not been in contact with Fiza for over two years now. Mohan hogged the limelight ever since 2008 after both went to town with their “love affair,” converted to Islam and eventually got married through Islamic rituals. Fiza had been under treatment for depression after unsavory fallout of her affair with Mohan. Chander Mohan contacted Fiza in March 2009 on her mobile phone and divorced her by saying “Talaq” three times.
