Minister offers baagina to Harangi reservoir

 District-in-Charge Minister Appacchu Ranjan offered baagina at Harangi reservoir near Kushalanagar on Tuesday.  


Speaking on the occasion, he said the rainfall in the region has brought smile on the face of farmers. With the heavy rains lashing Kodagu, Chief Minister and Revenue Minister will be urged to release Rs 50 crore to take up relief work.  A garden will be laid in 13 acre near Harangi reservoir. The tender has been invited for laying the garden. Minister for Irrigation Basavaraj Bommaiah will visit Harangi reservoir to flag off the work on garden in a month. 

Deputy Commissioner Dr N Shivashankar said that the district administration has taken all the measures to check any eventualities. A gruel centre has been opened at Srimangala. Former MLC S G Medappa, ZP standing committee on Social Justice President D B Dharmappa, member B B Bharathish, Cauvery Neeravari Nigama Executive Engineer Sathyanarayana was present. 

Rains continue

Heavy rains continue to lash Kodagu district on Tuesday. Several houses have been partially damaged. Landslides were reported at Ambedkar extension, Stuart Hill, Thyagarajanagara and Roshanarakere.
