2 held in licence fraud

 With the arrest of two persons, Delhi Police on Wednesday claimed to have smashed a gang allegedly involved in printing and selling fake driving licences and registration certificates.

 Shiv Kumar Yadav, 31, and Bappi Hussain, 50, were apprehended here on Tuesday on a tip-off, deputy commissioner of police (crime) Sanjay Kumar Jain said.

Hussain was the first to be arrested in Jahangirpuri allegedly with six forged driving licences and his questioning led to Yadav’s arrest. Hussain told police that he was lured into crime allegedly by one Shokeen three years ago. After a while, Shokeen stopped his illegal activities and  disappeared.Hussain then started looking  for another accomplice and found Yadav, who was a computer savvy and used to make rubber stamps. They they  started making forged driving licenses and other fake documents. Hussain would roam around Azadpur Mandi and Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar in the search of people and would offer them driving licenses for Rs 1,500 and registration certificates for Rs 2,000,” Jain said.
