Maintain discipline, minister tells cadets

 Students from Sainik School should maintain discipline and patience, inculcate patriotic spirit and should enrol themselves in the nation's defence forces, said Minister for Youth Services and Sports M P Appacchu Ranjan after inaugurating the students cabinet at Kodagu Sainik School on Tuesday.

“Field Marshall K M Cariappa and General Thimmaiah were role models. The young cadets must be influenced by the lives of these heroes. With discipline and patriotism, make your country proud,” he advised.


The government has allotted Rs 45 crore for the construction of the new Sainik School building and has promised to allot necessary equipment for the school in future, he said.
Inspecting the new building, the Minister said that Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar will be invited for the inauguration.


“A squash court will be constructed in the school and a volley ball coach will be appointed. Saplings will be planted in the school premises  with the help of the forest department,” he said.


He also informed that Kudumangalur Gram Panchayat will be responsible to collect waste generated in the school.


The minister congratulated cadets who have excelled in the sports events organised at the South Zonal level Sainik School level sports meet.


School principal Colonel M R Ramesh informed about various activities undertaken by the school. He also placed various demands before the minister. In-charge deputy commissioner Dr N Shivshankar and School head teacher M K Khan were present.
