Police arrest three, thwart murder in B'lore

The Bangalore East Police have arrested three men on Hennur Main Road in Lingarajapuram, who had allegedly hatched a plan to eliminate Elumalai, a rowdy-sheeter.

The arrested are Muruga, 24, Vinod, 25, and Kumar, 34. The police have recovered lethal weapons and mobile phones from them. All the three men are rowdy-sheeters with records in various city police stations and belonged to a gang led by Palani, alias Bagalur Palani, a notorious rowdy sheeter at KG Halli police station.

A duo of gang members, Santosh and Karthik, escaped police nets. Two special police teams have been formed to nab the men.

Palani, arrested under Goonda Act, is currently incarcerated at Parappana Agrahara. Police said that despite his imprisonment, Palani
has continued his rowdy activities.

According to police sources, Palani contacted Muruga, a notorious rowdy sheeter in Indiranagar and gave him a ‘supari’ of Rs 3 lakh to eliminate Elumalai. Palani had a feud with Elumalai which went beck for nearly a decade.

Muruga who accepted the contract to kill Elumalai, formed a gang of other rowdy-sheeters, including Chella Kumar alias Chella, Vinod of KG Halli, Santosh from Ramamurthy Nagar and Karthik from Banasavadi.

Acting on information that Elumalai was scheduled to pass through the Hennur Main Road, the gang set up an ambush. The plan was upset when the Bangalore East Police conducted a surprise raid and arrested the three of the gang.
