7,864 collect admission orders

A total of 7,864 students, who were allotted seats in the first stage of the casual vacancy round, collected admission orders by Sunday.

By 1 pm, 338 students in medical, 82 in dental, 73 in the Indian System of Medicine and Homoeopathy (ISM&H), 7,334 in engineering, and 37 in architecture paid the stipulated fees and collected the admission orders, the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) said.

In the first stage, 6,050 new seats were allotted to the students. In addition, 14,168 candidates had retained the seats allotted to them in the admission round of counselling last month.

There will be another casual vacancy round  for students to collect the admission orders. According to KEA, candidates who want to accept the allotted seats should collect the admission orders by Monday.

These students will have to report to the colleges the same day. They also need to confirm to KEA that they have joined the college concerned. Else, the allotted seats would be cancelled, the KEA warned.
