Magician to ride blindfolded from city to M'lore

Youth plans to cover 300 km via Hassan in 10 hours to create new record

Magician Samarth Shenoy is keen on creating a history on India’s most unforgettable historical day, Independence Day.

He would ride blindfolded all the way from Mysore to Mangalore on the day to get into books of records.

Addressing a press meet here on Tuesday, Shenoy said, the ride would be flagged off from Kote Anajaneya Temple, Palace premises at 7 am on August 15 by DCP Basavaraj Malagathi and Jaganath Shenoy of Silent Shores. The ride is dedicated to 65th Independence Day celebrations.

He elaborated that he has an aim to reach Mangalore at around 5 pm on the same day. He has earlier performed such act several times covering smaller distances like 15 km, 20 km and 40 km at Bagalkot, Udupi and Mangalore.

Shenoy would ride on his two wheeler TVS Wego from Mysore to Mangalore via Hassan covering 300 km. He would be accompanied by a team of six bikers, video camera van, announcement van and advertising board van.

The agenda behind the adventure is to complete the feat within 10 hours and reach Nehru Maidan of Mangalore by 5 pm. He wants to enter Limca Book of World Records and Record Setter. His eyes would be covered with a 5 mm cloth and a mask upon it of 5 mm.

Fasting

Shenoy said that he is determined of not eating or drinking anything during the ride of 10 hours. A speed of 20-25 km at city limits and 30-35 km at highway would be maintained.

The magician said, at least 200 km is required to be recognised for Limca book of records. A person at Los Angeles has done the blindfold ride of 150 km. “I have practised nearly 10 times for the final act since three months.”

Being a winner of several international and national awards, Shenoy has been performing magic since his 13 years of age. He has performed over 1000 shows acrosss globe including countries like Switzerland, Germany, France, Italy, Tanzania. He has also performed magic for education called ‘shaikshanika jadoo’.

Jayakumar of Cycle Pure Agarbathies, Anil of Parle, Sunil of Sona TVS, president of JCI Mysore Brindavan Nagesh, secretary Srikanth were present.
