Provide water directly from river to villages: MP

State government should take measures to provide drinking water from river sources, said MP R Dhruvanarayan.

He was speaking at the inauguration of Rs 22 lakh permanent drinking water project at Heggawadi in Chamarajanagar taluk recently.

A project to provide drinking water directly from rivers was planned for 55 villages in Doddakavalande, Nanjangud taluk. The project has now included Heggawadi village too.
With several villages facing drought, state government should form a permanent drought policy.

A decision has been made to adopt Heggawadi from the taluk panchayat and turn it into a model village.

He said projects for better road, drainage, Ambedkar Community Hall have already started.
Zilla panchayat president K Rajeshwari, member Sarasamma, former vice-president Siddaraju, taluk panchayat president Mahadevi, grama panchayat president Kemparaju, Youth Congress unit president Kerehalli Naveen, Kamaraju and others were present.
