Minister prays for welfare of State

Foundation laid for underpass in Madikeri

District-in-Charge Minister M P Appachu Ranjan offered a special pooja at several temples in Madikeri on Friday. He visited Karavale Bhagavathi, Kodanda Rama, Chowdeshwari, Kanchikamakshi, Dandina Mariamma, Kote Mariamma, Chowti Mariamma, Anjaneya and Omkareshwara temples and offered a special pooja.


Speaking on the occasion, he said that he has prayed for good rainfall and welfare of the State.


Sri Balanjaneya Temple Committee has prepared an action plan of Rs 1.25 crore to take up the work on its renovation. “We will make an effort to get Rs 25 lakh to Rs 50 lakh from the government. The remaining funds will be borne by the committee and donors.”


Measures will be taken to renovate old temples in the district in a phased manner. Additional funds will be sought from the state government for the purpose.
The Minister later visited Rajaseat and looked at the development work.  
He said that he will hold a meeting with the members of Rajaseat Development Committee and officials to beautify Rajaseat.


Foundation for underpass


The  Minister laid foundation for the underpass which will provide connectivity between District Hospital and women’s wing of the hospital.


Speaking after laying foundation, he said that the work is being taken up at an estimated cost of Rs one crore. The work will be completed in nine months.
The proposal to set up Medical College in Kodagu has been submitted to the Centre for approval. District Surgeon Dr K B Muthappa was present.
