Probe against Agrahara

The Sahitya Akademi is understood to have launched an inquiry into the alleged irregularities committed by its secretary Agrahara Krishnamurthy.

Krishnamurthy apparently sought voluntary retirement recently, but the Akademi rejected it in the light of the charges made against him. The Akademi executive board, which met on August 24, discussed the allegations made against him. The charges against him include, claiming conveyance allowance despite using official car and that he was involved in membership drive against norms. Krishnamurthy, working for the last six years at the Akademi, has six months of tenure left. The new board is likely to be elected by December, 2012.
