Whirlwind of lies

Directed by Simon West, ‘The Mechanic’ stars Jason Statham and Ben Foster. In this thriller, Arthur Bishop is a professional hit man.

After killing his friend Harry because of a contract, he takes his son (who is ignorant about the truth) as a student and teaches him the tricks of the trade.

Things become complicated when the son comes to know the truth. Tune in to the movie on Star Movies at 2.26 pm on August 29.

Fun on the streets

The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift’ stars Lucas Black, Bow Wow, Zachery Ty Bryan, Sung Kang and Brian Tee.

The flick is directed by Justin Lin. Shawn Boswell (Lucas Black) is a lonely teenager who challenges his rival to a street race that is illegal.

He lands in trouble with the police and agrees to go and live with his father in Tokyo to avoid being imprisoned.

Once there, Shawn finds another new — but fun and dangerous — way to continue street racing in the underworld of Tokyo’s streets.

Catch the movie on Zee Studio at 9 pm on August 29.

A difficult wedding indeed
Wedding humour and politics can’t get any better. When an engaged girl asks one of her friends to be her maid of honour, the lucky candidate has to battle for her position — more than she’d ever have imagined.

In particular, she has to take on a dominating bridesmaid, who is most
definitely not pleased with this turn of events.

‘Bridesmaids’ airs on HBO at 9 pm on August 29.

The movie stars Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph and Rose Byrne and is directed by Paul Feig.

Tough nut to crack

Watch the first season of ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ on AXN at 6 pm on August 29.

This American police procedural television series revolves around a team of special agents belonging to the NCIS (Naval Criminal Investigative Service).

This team of elite agents solve criminal cases involving marine and navy personnel and their families. 

The show stars Chris O’Donnell, Peter Cambor, Daniela Ruah, Adam Jamal Craig, Barrett Foa and Linda Hunt.

Complicated love triangles

Muqaddar Ka Sikander airs on August 29 at 9 pm on Zee Cinema. Sikandar is orphaned at a very young age and faces very harsh treatment.

The only one to feel sympathy for him is little Kaamna, in whose home he works. Her father throws Sikandar out one day.

Years go by and Sikandar (Amitabh Bachchan) has grown up to become very rich. He has amassed his wealth by helping the police get back smuggled goods and receivingrewards for the same.

He still remembers Kaamna (Rakhee Gulzar) and hopes to marry her one day. But she is just not interested as she loves Vishal (Vinod Khanna), a lawyer.

Sikandar is dejected and takes to alcohol.  He also visits Zohrabai (Rekha) who dances mujra. She is in love with Sikandar, while Dilawar covets her.

A street food journey

Eat Street: Yum Yum’ will air on August 29 at 9.30 pm on Fox Traveller.
