Advocate dies in accident

B Chinmaya Krishna, 25, an advocate and a resident of Mattikere, was killed when he rammed his two-wheeler into a truck, parked on Ramana Maharshi Road on Tuesday night.

The victim was returning home from his office on Race Course Road when the accident occurred. Krishna suffered severe head injuries and was rushed to Baptist Hospital, where he succumbed late night.

Chain snatched

Two bike-borne men snatched the gold chain of Indira, 47, a housewife, on Tuesday night at Prakruthi Layout. The gold chain weighed 40 gram and was worth Rs 1.10 lakh. A case has been registered at the Hennur police station.

Six dacoits in police net

Hanumanthnagar police rece­ntly busted a gang of six dacoits. Based on a tip-off that a gang of nine dacoits was planning to rob commuters in front of Basappa Park, Gavi­puram Layout, the police conducted a surprise raid and arrested six of them.

The ar­r­­e­st­ed are - Sateesh, 27, Raju, 22, Manjunath, 22, Kumar, 21 and Hemanth, 21 - all residents of Srinagar and Purushottam, 24, of Chamarajanagar.
