Rat grounds Toronto-bound Air India flight

The rodent was spotted at 5:30 am, an hour before AI-187, which had arrived at the Rajasansi international airport here from Delhi, was to take off.

“After noticing the rat, we asked all the 147 passengers on board to disembark,” Ashwini Arora, AI manager here, said.

“We tried to locate it but were unable to do so. The plane will be fumigated,” he said.
Engineers and technical staff of the airlines apprehended that the rat could damage the wiring.

The airlines arranged for another plane from Delhi for the passengers.
The flight took off in the evening for Toronto via London.
