Heavy rains continue to lash Kodagu

Rains continued to lash Kodagu district on Thursday. The district has been receiving rains continuously for the last three days. Thick mist has engulfed the district making the atmosphere chilly.

The water-bodies in the district are overflowing owing to rains. The water-level has increased in the rivers causing heavy flow of water to reservoirs.Heavy rains have been recorded in Madikeri, napoklu, Sampaje, Baghamandala,Virajpet Kasaba, Srimangala, Ammeti, Santhalli and other Hoblis.

Kodagu district has received 3.2 cm rains. From January till date, the district has received 156.3 cm rain.Madikeri taluk has received 4.8 cm rain, Virajpet taluk 2.4 cm rain, Somawarpet taluk 2.5 cm rain.

The maximum water-level of Harangi reservoir is 2,859 feet. Today's water-level is 2858.10 feet. Today's water outflow is 1558 cusecs. Last year, the water-flow on the same day is 1550 cusecs.
