Two minor girls, who hail from West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh, were rescued from a brothel at GB Road in central Delhi on Friday.

They were rescued after police received a tip-off that two  girls would be trafficked and sold at G B Road.

“A raid in brothel number 41 was conducted and the girls, both aged 17, were rescued,” said additional commissioner of police (central) Devesh Chanra Srivastava.

The girl from West Bengal was brought to the Capital by her friend on the pretext of providing her a job here.

Two day ago, she managed to make a call to her family from a mobile phone of a customer.
Her family approached West Bengal Police and a team rushed to the Capital to seek Delhi Police’s help to rescue the girl, a police official said.

She is staying in the Capital for last one year. Police said the girl from Andhra Pradesh came to Delhi seven months ago.

After producing both the girls before the Child Welfare Committee, the West Bengal girl was handed over to th police team.

“We have informed the Andhra Pradesh police officials. They too are on their way to the Capital to take custody of the other victim along with her parents,” said the officer.

Police are investigating into the case and trying to nab the human traffickers.
