JOIN USA woman was stabbed and killed by her nephew on Sunday afternoon at her home in R T Nagar. The deceased has been identified as Eshwaramma, 55.
According to police, Eshwaramma, her husband, Kailas, and their daughter, Kumari, were at home on Sunday afternoon, when their nephew, Prasad, 35, who lived nearby, paid a visit.
Eshwaramma served lunch to her nephew, but when an argument ensued between the two over an alleged family dispute, Prasad seized a kitchen knife and stabbed Eshwaramma in the chest and abdomen. He then fled the scene, police said.
Rushed to a nearby private hospital, Eshwaramma was declared ‘brought dead.’ Kailas and Kumari, who were injured in their attempt to stop Prasad, were treated for their injuries.
Eshwaramma’s body has been sent for post-mortem. A case has been registered at the R T Nagar police station.
