Workers of horticulture department staged a protest under the banner of Mysore division General Employees Association demanding action against the contractor of workers of the department at Dasara Exhibition Authority.

The agitators alleged that six of the workers-Puttammani, Jayamma, Thayamma, Pushpavathi, Basammanni and Manchaiah were assailed and abused by the contractor Shivaswamy of Vigneshwara Enterprises, when they approached him to question about their salary not paid, although payment from the exhibition authority was cleared.
