Due to lackadaisical attitude of a government hospital and its doctors, a two-and-a-half year old child died in the city. Family members of the child created ruckus in the hospital.

Rohit was taken to the city government’s Satyawadi Raja Harish Chandra Hospital in outer Delhi on Sunday evening. The child was suffering from high fever. But doctors on duty refused to admit him and sent the family back. The child was not given any medication either.

Coming from low economic strata, the family could not take him to a private hospital. After seeing that Rohit’s fever was not coming into control, the family took him to the same hospital again on Monday morning.

They were again sent back without being given any proper reason. No entry was made in the register for the same on both occasions.

The family kept sitting outside the outpatient department for two hours, but no one in the hospital paid any heed. While returning from the hospital, the child’s condition deteriorated and did not respond to movements.

Since there was no other government hospital or cheap facility in the vicinity, he was again rushed to Raja Harish Chandra. By then the shift had changed and the doctors were different. They saw the baby and declared him dead.

Frustrated with the response of the hospital and losing their dear one, the family members ransacked some parts of the hospital. Doctors demanded enhanced security in the hospital.
