Diploma in Archives & Records Management   

Applications in the prescribed form are invited to a one-year Diploma in Archives and Records Management at the School of Archival Studies, New Delhi.

Eligibility: An MA in History with a minimum 50 per cent aggregate with one optional paper in Modern Indian History or an MA in Social Sciences — Anthropology, Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Linguistics is mandatory.

Duration : The duration of the training programme is one year, from November 2012 to October 2013.The objective is to train candidates in various disciplines of Archival Studies — Records Management, Conservation, Reprography and Information Sciences and to produce highly competent professionals in the field of archives.

Ten scholarships of the value of Rs 1,500 per month will be awarded purely on the basis of merit. Six stipends of Rs 1,000 per month will be awarded to sponsored candidates.

PG in Tribal Development Management

The National Institute of Rural Development has launched its first batch of a one-year distance education programme in Tribal Development Management with an aim to have a strong perspective and in-depth understanding of tribal society and culture, ethos, demography, levels of development and contemporary socioeconomic issues.

Eligibility: Graduation in any discipline from a recognised university is mandatory.
The programme will be offered through two semesters. The filled-in application form with copies of the required documents should be sent with a demand draft of Rs 500.

Application forms can be downloaded from the institute website mentioned below. Filled-in application forms should be sent to the admissions coordinator, PGD-TDM, Distance Education Cell, National Institute of Rural Development, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad-500030 (A.P), India, so as to reach on or before September 10, 2012.

PhD at Nimhans

Applications are invited from candidates with sponsorship from the Government of India/state govt. institutions and fellowships from government agencies like UGC/ICMR/CSIR, for a PhD programme at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore. Permanent employees and tenure employees of NIMHANS can also apply for PhD in the various departments of this institute. The three specialisations on offer are:

*PhD in Mental Health & Social Psychology
*PhD in Neurophysiology
*PhD in Speech Pathology & Audiology

Eligibility: A Master’s degree with not less than 55 per cent aggregate or MBBS/BE/BTech is mandatory. Candidates with a Master’s degree obtained through research and awarded on the basis of the evaluation of thesis are also eligible to apply.

Applicants have to work on a full-time basis for a minimum period of three years on campus. Application forms and prospectus can be obtained from the director, Nimhans by enclosing a demand draft of Rs 500 drawn in favour of the Director, NIMHANS, Bangalore-560029.
