Body of youth found after 4 days

The body of youngster Avin Ponnanna whop died after drowning in Cauvery river in Balamuri, was found at Uppugundi on Thursday.

The search operations were on for four days to trace the body of Avin who had drowned in water along with his bike. Avin had drowned in water when he was crossing a bridge across Cauvery river near Balamuri on Monday evening.

He lost control at one point as the water was gushing with force over the bridge due to incessant rains.

The Fire Service squad and Dubare team had taken up search operation in two rafting boats from Balamuri to Bethri village. Two expert swimmers and locals had joined the operation.

The locals who were carrying out the search in sand mining boat found the dead body on the fourth day.

Madikeri Rural Police Station Sub Inspector Srikanth visited the spot.
