'Take poems to people'

He was speaking after inaugurating the Dasara student poets’ meet, organised by Manvantara Prakashana, at Sarvajna Park in Kolar on Friday. He said, the people from working class sing songs while working in the fields. This would help soothing their aggrieved souls and be a balm for their sufferings. Besides, it helps them beat the monotony and ennui of their work life. However, as these folks are not considered seriously by the academics, they have not been recognised properly, though they are also poets in true sense. Lecturer J G Nagaraj presided over the programme. Chairman of Manvantara Prakashana Anantharamu delivered the key-note address.   G Ramaraju and K S Ganesh were present.
