Thousands of devotees from across the state enjoyed the colourful moments of Vijayadashami as they took part in the addapallakki utsav of the seer.
A number of musical instruments and dance troupes added colour to the procession.
The utsav commenced at Azad Park Maidan at 5 pm and passed through MG Road, Basavanahalli main road, and reached DACG Polytechnic premises in the night.

Agrodhaka procession
Over 2000 women took part in a procession carrying ‘agrodhaka’ for ‘ishtalinga pooja’ as part of Dasara Darbar and Janajagruthi Sammelan convened by Rambhapuri mutt here on Monday.

Even Rambhapuri pontiff himself carried agrodhaka in a silver vessel which thrilled thousands of devotees gathered for the occasion.
It is for the first time in the 18-year-history of Dasara Darbar of the present pontiff, the seer himself carried the silver pot and agrodhaka.

Knowing the seer’s decision before hand, Taluk Panchayuat former president Hirekolale Shivakumar had offered a 3-kg silver vessel to the seer.
“One should either have the fear of ‘shaastras’ (customs), or the ‘shastras’ (weapons, i.e., punishment)” If both of them were absent, it naturally causes social illhealth,” he said during his address after performing ‘shami pooja’ at DACG Government Polytechnic premises as part of Vijayadashami.

“Vijayadashami is the day when Rama returned to Ayodhya after Vanavasa and war. It is also the day of Kauravas’ defeat against the Kauravas. One should worship ‘banni’ on Vijayadashami and dedicate them to th seniors,” he explained.
