Pak releases remaining Indian fishermen

Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Saturday announced release of all Indian fishermen who have completed their prison terms in his country.

"All Indian fishermen who have completed the jail term have been released as a goodwill gesture for external affairs minister S M Krishna’s visit to Pakistan,” he remarked after signing the new visa agreement.

 Krishna also referred to the issue during his media interaction with his Pakistani counterpart Hina Rabbani Khar.

The two countries reviewed the status of bilateral relations and expressed satisfaction on the holding of meetings on various issues.

The major issues in focus are counter terrorism (including progress on Mumbai trial) and narcotics control, humanitarian issues, commercial and economic co-operation, Wullar barrage/ Tulbul navigation project, Sir Creek, Siachen, peace and security including confidence building measures, Jammu and Kashmir etc.
