JOIN USJDU chief Sharad Yadav on Wednesday criticised BJP leader L K Advani for comparing the arrest of cartoonist Aseem Trivedi with the Emergency imposed by Indira Gandhi.
Yadav said the comparison was “exaggerated.”
His comment comes at a time when alternatives to Narendra Modi’s candidature as the NDA’s prime ministerial candidate are being suggested, with Govidacahrya on Tuesday suggesting Yadav’s name. The JDU chief, however, tried to underplay the comment while talking to media persons.
However, Yadav’s comment on Advani’s remarks indicate that he is trying to throw his weight behind the anti-Advani camp. Advani had sparked a controversy through his earlier blog post where he said both BJP and Congress may fail come to power in the next elections.
