Marks cards manipulated in the computer section of Mysore varsity

Three members of the computer section have also been placed under suspension.
Addressing a press meet here at the University of Mysore, Registrar (Examination) Ramu said three persons –– N Sudhakar, Y S Harsha and Mahesh –– working at the computer section have been found to have manipulated the marks of students by “using the software assigned to decode marks in case of re-examination and re-counting.”
In order to upkeep transparency in the announcement of results, the University had computerised the process in 2002.

“However, this has been misused by the staff of the computer section by either using their own password or by hacking into others,” he said.
An inquiry has been ordered into the incident and further action will be taken as per the law against those guilty, the registrar added.

Further, the Syndicate had decided to withdraw the degrees awarded to such students and also revoke the markscard of students who connived with the computer section staff, he added.
