Radhika Pandit is reminiscing about her days of shooting for Krishnan Love Story (KLS) while she is on the sets of her latest film Kadipudi.

And why, you ask? Well, the actress is all set to go de-glam again for this role.

“The last time I went de-glam was in KLS and I can’t help but think of the experience I had while shooting for that movie,” she says.

Director Suri apparently has instructed Radhika not to apply any make-up.

“It’s a complete no make-up role — not even foundation or kajal. It’s been four days of shooting and I still subconsciously reach for my kajal when on the sets,” she says.

This flick is a complete contrast to her other film ‘Drama’, directed by Yograj Bhat, in which Radhika plays a flirt.

Known for her girl-next-door image, it will be a surprise to see Radhika in this new look.

“The character is something I have never done before. She is a big flirt, who can get any guy to do whatever she wants. I am sure it will be a welcome change from my usual on-screen image,” she says.

But what many don’t know is that Yograj Bhat recently took her by surprise when she had come to dub for the film. “It was the first day of my dubbing and Yograj sir told me to sing a song. I thought he was joking, but he was actually serious about it,” she adds.

After a lot of coaxing and convincing, the director finally got Radhika to croon for the first time. Not only did she have to sing, but she also had to rap.

“In ‘Drama’, there is a song called Hitavachana… and Yograj sir suggested I give a shot at rapping it. I had never considered singing and wasn’t even sure how I would sound.

So when I was asked to turn rapper, I was not too sure of the outcome. It was very difficult at first but then, when I got a hang of it, I felt more at ease. And now that the song is playing on the radio, it feels good to hear oneself,” says Radhika.

So does that mean Radhika would try her hand at playback singing in her upcoming movies as well? “No way,” she states, while adding, “this was a one-time thing and I am glad I tried my hand at it — but I don’t think I can do it again.”
