The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officers on Saturday night raided ILC Iron and Steel Company at Kunikeri village in the taluk, in connection with the illegal export of iron ore from Belekeri port.
Sources said the officers inspected documents during the raid. They also raided ILC Rice Mill at Karatagi.
However, the company officials have denied the reports. Speaking to Deccan Herald, ILC Iron and Steel Company’s human resource department head Siddalinga Biradar said neither did the CBI officers raid the company nor did they inspect documents.
