Traffic curbs for the festival

The City traffic police have imposed restrictions in and around the City railway station and Kempe Gowda bus terminal on Tuesday and Wednesday, in view of the Gowri-Ganesha festival.

Parking of all private vehicles is banned on Dhanvanthri Road, Railway Station Road, Tank Bund Road, Platform Road and Khodays’ Junction.

Buses going towards Mysore, Kodagu and Kerala will start from Mysore Road bus terminal. Buses going towards Tamil Nadu will start from Shanthinagar bus terminal. Buses heading towards Davangere will start from Chikka Lalbagh bus terminal.

To ease traffic congestion, parking of long-distance buses is restricted to Balekai Mandi, Jakkarayanakere, NGEF terminal and New Peenya bus terminal.

People bound for Mysore and beyond should go to Mysore Road bus terminal. People heading towards Tamil Nadu in KSRTC and SETC premier buses (to Chennai, Trichy, Karaikudi, Pudukottai, Tanjavur, Coimbatore, Madurai and Kumbakonam) should board the buses at Shanthinagar bus station.

People travelling to Villupuram, Dharmapuri, Salem, Krishnagiri, Coimbatore via Hosur in Tamil Nadu Corporation buses should board at Mysore Road bus terminal. Similarly, passengers travelling to Davangere and beyond should go to Chikka Lalbagh bus terminal.

The police have appealed to the people to avoid KG Road, Goodshed Road, Seshadri Road, Subedar Chattram Road, Platform Road, Krishna Flour Mill Road on Tuesday evening and Wednesday evening.
