A 45-year-old woman was arrested with heroin worth Rs 2.5 crore in Seelampur in north-east Delhi on Sunday, police said.

“Fehmida, a resident of Seelampur, was involved in sale and supply of heroin in various parts of the city,” said Sanjay Kumar Jain, deputy commissioner of police (crime).
On a tip-off, police laid a trap and arrested Fehmida near Inter-State Bus Terminal-Seelampur flyover.

“Around 2.5 kg of fine quality heroin worth Rs 2.5 crore in the international market was recovered from her. She was accompanied by her son-in-law Motia,” Jain said.

She told police that due to poor financial condition of her family, she and her mother started selling vegetables at Seelampur. She was married to Salim, who later died due to alcoholism.

Akram, brother of Fehmida, was a drug addict and he used to procure the smack from Laloo Pehalwan. Fehmida, too, started selling small packets of smack after procuring the them from Laloo Pehalwan. In 1995, she got remarried to Sabir Chaudhary. Sabir and his brothers were also criminals. One of his brothers Shamim alias Bhagat was shot dead by a criminal, who in turn was killed by Sabir and his associates.

Fehmida had procured the consignment from Rehana, wife of Laloo Pehalwan, on Sunday and she was going to her house to sell it in small packets to her customers when she was arrested.
