Mystery shrouds twin murders

Two men were found dead with bullet injuries in a building on Anantapur Road on Thursday.An illegal affair or a financial dealing is suspected to be the motive for the murder.

Venumadhav (45) of Bellary, had rented out a property to Prasad who was into the business of firewood depot.

Erappa Shankarappa Badigere (35) of Mallapur village of Ron taluk of Gadag districts, who was employed at a firewood depot was the man found dead.

Venumadhav had rented a part of his one acre property located near his house to Prasad.
The murder has taken place in the rented premises. Some years earlier Venumadav was also in the mining business along with Zaffar. On Wednesday, he went to a friends birthday party and had returned home.

Venumadhav’s wife Vasantha filed a complaint with the police when the former who had gone out on Wednesday night did not return till Thursday afternoon.  

The bodies were found inside the depot after breaking open the door lock.  On post mortem a bullet wound was found on the forehead of Venumadhav and the back of Erappa.  Prasad, a relative of Venumadhav, has borrowed Rs 4 lakh from the latter.
