JOIN USA pregnant woman alleged that she was raped by an astrologer at Neb Sarai area in south Delhi on Thursday morning.
According to a senior police official, the 29-year-old victim was working as a domestic help at the house and office of a 45-year-old man, Siyaram Dubey, in Devli village for the past six months.
A case under section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against Dubey with Neb Sarai police station. “The accused is absconding and teams are working on leads to arrest him,” the official said.
An initial investigation has revealed that Dubey is married and hails from Uttar Pradesh’s Sultanpur district. He stayed at rented accomodation with his wife, three sons and a daughter.
“He also has his office in Devli village and the victim alleges that she was sexually assaulted there around 10.45 am on Thursday,” the official added.
Dubey had threatened her of dire consequences if she told anyone about the assault. However, she informed her husband. The victim’s medical examination was conducted after her husband reported the matter to police.
