Astrologer arrested for raping maid

 A fake astrologer has been arrested for raping a 29-year-old pregnant woman in Neb Sarai of south Delhi, police said on Saturday.

Siyaram Dubey, 43, of Devli village was held after the victim, who was working as a domestic help at his house, approached police on Thursday.

She stated that she had been working at Siyaram’s house for past six months and was sexually assaulted on Thursday morning.

“She went to Siyaram’s house in the morning and started cooking. Suddenly, Siyaram came from behind and raped her,” said Chhaya Sharma, deputy commissioner of police (south).

“The victim’s medical examination was conducted at AIIMS. A case was also lodged against Siyaram after the medical examination confirmed rape,” Sharma added.

Siyaramwas absconding. His cellphone number was tracedit was found that he was in Haryana’s Sonipat district.

On Friday, he was finally arrested in Sonipat. Siyaram confessed to have raped the woman.
