500 students take part in eco-awareness rally

He was speaking after inaugurating the Rajiv Gandhi Akshaya Oorja celebration at City Municipal Council grounds in the Kolar Gold Fields on Wednesday.
The celebration was organised by Department of Public Instructions. A environment awareness rally was organised as a part of the celebrations where children from many schools took part.

The collective responsibility of protecting the environment for the future generation lies in the hands of the today’s youth, said  Krishnamurty.

Contribution to nature

Man depends on the nature for the fulfilment of his various needs expressed  Krishnamurty who questioned man’s contribution to nature.
As many as 500 students from various schools in the City  took part in the rally.
The rally went through Surajmal Circle, Gandhi Circle and Geeta road in the City. Children distributed pamphlets and created awareness about the need to protect environment among the people.

Town Municipal Council Commissioner R S Yarrappa, City Municipal Council  President  Bhaktavatsalam, CMC members and others were present on the occasion.
