'Tourism growth potential in city high'

The growth potential of tourism in Mysore is very and it is much better when compared to any other place in south India, said SWR senior divisional commercial manager Dr Anup Dayanand Sadhu.

He was speaking after inaugurating the Tourist Information counter at the city Railway station and the World Tourism Day, here on Thursday and said South Western Railway is also keen to take steps to promote Mysore as a tourist hub.

The Railway museum is being renovated to welcome the tourists during the coming Dasara, he said. He asked the Mysore Travel Agents association to organise events frequently in order to improve tourism in the city.

The passengers of Chennai Express were welcomed with roses on their arrival. Mahajana College Tourism department students, CAVA students and students from Bylukuppe participated in the function.

Karnataka Tourism deputy director Shivalingappa and MTAA vice president Ashok were present.
