Last Updated 28 September 2012, 17:17 IST

The Karnataka government has convened a meeting of floor leaders of political parties in the legislature on Saturday in the wake of the Supreme Court directing it to comply with the Prime Minister-headed Cauvery River Authority’s (CRA) directive to release 9,000 cusec of water to Tamil Nadu.

Congress leaders Siddaramaiah and S R Patil, JD(S) leaders H D Revanna, M C Nanaiah and several Cabinet ministers will attend the meeting at chief minister’s Home office “Krishna” at 11 am.

The government’s next course of action, legal measures, law and order situation in the State, especially in the Cauvery basin and Bangalore, will be discussed at the meeting.
It will be the third meeting of floor leaders to be convened in the last two weeks. The government had convened similar meetings once ahead of the September 19 CRA meeting, and last week following a decision to file a petition seeking review of the CRA ruling.
