Music Circle, Chandra Layout will present a Carnatic music vocal concert by Manasi Prasad on October 4, 6 pm at Basaveshwara HBCS, Chandra Layout (behind Canara Bank). Manasi will be accompanied by Mysore R Dayakar (violin) and B C Manjunath (mridangam).

Sapthak will present the musical programme Vanadh Vadya-Laya Vaividhya by Gurumurthy Vaidya on October 2, 5.30 pm at Havyaka Sabha Bhavan, Malleswaram, 11th cross. Shobha Choudhari will present a vocal recital. 

‘Papanasam Krithis’
Neelambari will present a seven-day workshop on popular Papanasam Krithis, by Vidhushi Neela Ramgopal, on October 3, 4, 10, 11, 17, 18 and 25, 3 pm to 5 pm at the Josika Montessori School, 11th Main Road, Jayanagar 5th block.

‘Raag Sangeet’
Sursagar will present Hindustani Raag Sangeet, by Mashkoor Ali Khan on October 4, 6.30 pm, at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Race Course Road. Mashkoor Ali Khan will be accompanied by Zafar Muhammed Khan (tabla) and Sarwar Hussain (sarangi).

‘Laya Vybhava’
The Bangalore Gayana Samaja, Sri Krishna Rajendra Road, is holding its 41st music conference from October 4 to 11.The theme of the conference is Laya Vybhava. The conference will be inaugurated on October 4, 10 am at the Samaja Auditorium.
The Samaja will also honour artistes D V Nagaraja (vocal), P V Radha (vocal), M S Govindaswamy (violin), R K Padmanabha (veena), Sukanya Ramagopal (ghatam), Uma Nagabhushan, Y K Muddukrishna (‘Sugama Sangeeta’) and Achyutha Rao Padaki (drama). For details, call 26506049.

Sonu to rock
Playback singer Sonu Nigam will perform live on October 11 at the Palace Grounds (Jayamahal entrance) at 6.30 pm.

Sarod strains

Group exhibition

Village life
Bangalore Art Foundation will exhibit the art work of eight-year-old Druthija Sathvali till October 3, 10.30 am at the Venkatappa Art Gallery. Her painting depicts the beauty of the country-side and the village life. 

‘Wild’ life
Young artists and photographers have come together to display their art works and photographs flowing in the lines of ‘wild’ life and what is left of it, at the Alliance Francaise till October 7, 10 am to 7 pm.

‘Shared Habitat’
Gallery Sumukha and Tasveer will present ‘Pan India - A Shared Habitat’ by photographer Prashant Panjiar. Pan India is a personal photographic project that seeks to observe the visual landscape of India at the cusp of change. Works are on view at Gallery Sumukha from October 20 to 31, 10 am to 6 pm.


Hindustani play
The India Foundation for the Arts and Prestige Group will present two Hindustani language plays, Katha Collage and Ismat Apa Ke Naam - II, produced and directed by Naseeruddin Shah, on October 2 and 3, 7.30 pm, at the Chowdiah Memorial Hall. For details, call 23414681.

‘Naa Tukaram Alla’
