CM, colleagues apathetic to rain havoc in the State: Opposition

JD(S) state president H D Kumaraswamy, speaking to press persons, alleged that the government had not yet started relief works though thousands of people were rendered homeless. The ministers with no concern about the public had been relaxing in Suttur in the name of Sahachintana.

Congress leaders led by H K Patil met the governor H R Bhardwaj and appealed to him to direct the government to take appropriate relief measures. Leader of the Opposition in the legislative council V S Ugrappa said “When people are dying, the ministers in the Yeddyurappa cabinet are practicing Shavasana in Suttur”.
Referring to a programme, organised by KMF, to felicitate the CM, MLC R V Sudarshan said the CM was more interested in accepting a felicitation rather than addressing to those affected by the floods.

The CM has refuted the allegations that his cabinet was relaxing at Suttur while the state faced the floods. The ministers were not relaxing. Instead they gathered information about the flood from officers over phone. A few ministers also left the programme well in advance to their respective districts to monitor relief works, he told reporters in Suttur.
