JOIN USPolice said, Suraj, a student was kidnapped from West of Chord Road by a gang while he was returning home after a tuition class. They called up his father, an engineer with Isro, and demanded huge ransom.
Since the father refused to yield to the demand, they assaulted Suraj, robbed his jewellery, cash and cellphone, abandoned him on NICE Road and fled.
Duplicate watches seized
Enforcers of Intellectual Property Rights and Peenya police raided a watch showroom of Vadiraj (30) and confiscated duplicate wrist watches of a well-known company worth Rs 6.70 lakh. The sleuths raided Durga Times, Anuraga Building, Coconut Garden, T Dasarahalli and seized 670 watches and 14 ladies leather straps.
Man robbed
Four men robbed a person of his valuables in Vidyaranyapura police limits on Wednesday.
The incident occurred in front of Sriram Apartment Road in Kamath Layout when the victim Govidaraju was returning home. Two of the accused requested Govindaraju for a drop. One of them went with Govindraju riding pillion, while another followed them. The pillion rider threatened him at knife point when he approached Sriram Apartment.
Soon, three others joined him, snatched his cellphone, jewellery and ATM card. Two of them went to a nearby ATM kiosk. But they couldn’t withdraw money as Govindaraju had given them false pin number. However, Govindaraju had to give them the correct pin number when they threatened to stab him. They withdrew Rs 8,000 and fled, said the police.
Murder case solved
The KG Halli police solved a murder case by arresting two persons on Thursday. The accused are Venkataramanappa of KG Halli and Muniraju of Veerannanapalya, while the deceased is Chandru (40).
The police said Chandru, a plumber by profession and a resident of KG Halli, used to harass Venkataramanappa’s wife for sexual favours. She informed her husband about Chandru’s intentions. Venkataramanappa decided to eliminate Chandru and took the help of Muniraju in completing the task.
The duo hacked Chandru to death in a field in Nagawara three days ago. They left the body in the field and fled. The police established identity of Chandru and arrested the duo, added the police.
