Two men found murdered

Two men were found murdered in the City on the intervening night on Sunday and Monday.  24-year-old youth was killed in a drunken brawl near Hari Nagar Cross.

Police said, Sunday evening, Dhananjaya, a resident of Hari Nagar and a painter, along with his friends Anand, Shiva and two others, consumed liquor at a bar.

A tiff broke out between Dhananjaya and the rest when they were heading home, over the installation of a Ganesha idol in their area.

In a fit of rage, Anand stabbed Dhananjaya with a button knife twice in the chest. When Dhananjaya collapsed, the other friends rushed him to Victoria Hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

A murder case has been registered against the four at Subramanyapura police station. The police have launched a manhunt for them.

In another incident, an unidentified man was found dead at an open site, adjacent to a bar, at Pattegarapalya Monday morning. Passersby informed the police. The police rushed to the spot and retrieved the body.

Police sources said there was evidence that at least three people had food and consumed liquor at the spot of crime.

They suspect that a spat broke out between them, leading to the murder. The police are yet to establish the identity of the deceased. A case has been registered at Vijayanagar police station.
