<p>A 40-year-old Delhi University associate professor attempted suicide at her house on the varsity premises in North Campus by slashing her wrist, police said.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Najma Rehmani, assistant professor of the department of Urdu in DU, was found lying in a pool of blood beside her bed by her domestic help at 11:30 am. <br /><br />The professor had slit her right wrist. She was rushed to Bara Hindu Rao Hospital, where her condition is now stable. Deputy commissioner of police (north) Sindhu Pillai said the woman is recovering. <br /><br />The investigating officer said a suicide note was recovered, in which she mentioned that she was lonely and wanted to go to another world. Police said she lived alone in a flat allotted by the university.</p>
