A 45-year-old man was stabbed to death by his friend after a heated argument over Rs 100 at Rohini in outer Delhi, police said.
Deepak Vaid, a resident of Sector-7 in the area, was killed by his friend Rajesh Bansal, 46, who lives in a neighbourhood locality.
Three days ago Vaid, who was unemployed, lost Rs 100 while gambling with Bansal, who works in a private company. Bansal was demanding the money from his friend.
Refused to pay
An officer said they met on Thursday night where Bansal pressed for money again, but Vaid refused to pay and mocked him. There was an argument between them which turned ugly, he said. All of a sudden, Bansal stabbed him to death and fled at 10:30 pm.
Vaid was rushed to Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
‘Blood stained’
Other friends of Bansal found him with blood stained clothes. “They informed police and following which he was nabbed from his house,” said a police officer.
During interrogation, Bansal told police that he was demanding Rs 100 from Vaid but he used to mock him and finally declared that he will not pay without giving any reasons.
“In the argument, Vaid started abusing him. Irritated of the mockery and abuses, in fit a of rage, Bansal stabbed him to death,” said the officer.
A case regarding the incident has been registered and the accused has been sent to judicial custody.
