Five persons, including two women, have been arrested for allegedly kidnapping a teenaged girl on gunpoint last month.

Kulwinder Kaur and Nishu Chopra were arrested here, while the third accused Rajwinder Ghali was apprehended from Pihani in Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh, police said today.
Two others, Varinder Dhalla and Kuldeep, were held earlier and the vehicle in which the girl was allegedly kidnapped on September 24 recovered, they said.

The 15-year-old had been forcibly taken away in full public view after her alleged kidnapper Nishan Singh, who is yet to be traced by police, fired shots in the air.

While her family has demanded proper investigations in the case, the police took a U-turn from its earlier stand that the girl had eloped with Singh, a criminal facing at least 17 cases, and said the letter purportedly written by her and procured by them was penned down "under pressure."

Meanwhile, activists of 'Goondagardi Virodhi Sanghtan' continued their hunger strike outside the Kotwali Police Station to protest against the "delay" in finding the girl.
