2 killed in separate accidents

Three persons were killed in two separate road accidents in the City on Thursday morning.

In the first incident, Gangaiah, 30, a construction worker, was mowed down by a sports utility vehicle (SUV) at around 12.30 am when he was waiting for a bus near Tin Factory to go to his native in Andhra Pradesh.

He was taken to Bowring Hospital where he succumbed to injuries, said the police.
The driver of the SUV fled the spot after abandoning the vehicle.

Gangaiah was staying with his wife and child at Bhadrappa Layout. The police are on the lookout for the driver.

In another incident, two youths died on the spot in a road accident near Sanjaynagar Cross.
The victims were identified as Lohith Kumar, 21, a resident of Pemme Gowda Road in JC Nagar and Mohan N, 23, a resident of Chamundeshwarinagar in RT Nagar.

The incident occurred at around 1.50 am, when the two were heading towards Hebbal on a bike. Lohith was riding the bike without a helmet. It is not known if they were killed after an unknown vehicle collided with them or Lohith lost control over the bike and rammed into the pavement, said the police.

A few eye-witnesses alerted the police, who rushed to the spot.They were killed on the spot due to massive multiple injuries. The post-mortem was conducted at MS Ramaiah Hospital, said the police.

Lohith’s father is a construction worker, while Mohan’s father is a BSNL employee. The two were working with a courier agency, said the police.
