Govt to appoint 4,000 teachers

The Karnataka government will appoint 4,000 teachers to fill the vacancies in primary schools across the State.

Primary and Secondary Education Minister Vishweshwara Hegde Kageri told mediapersons here on Monday that out of the total 12,000 posts vacant under various categories, the government will fill 4,000 now.

The process of appointment will begin in November and the teachers will report for duty before the next academic year, he added.

Activities of the second term of this academic year will begin soon. So, the government will appoint guest teachers for vacant posts immediately to address scarcity of teachers in schools. Service of the guest lectures will continue till the permanent teachers report for duty, Kageri said.
