All ears to good music

The fifth edition of the Bengaluru Sangeeth Utsav-2012 will be held from October 26 to 28 at the Chowdiah Memorial Hall. This will be a unique experience for connoisseurs of classical music and dance in the City.

Many renowned artistes will be participating in the Utsav. The festival will be inaugurated on October 26 at 9.45 am. There will be a variety of musicians of different classical forms taking the stage on each of the days.

The performances range from Carnatic saxophone recital by Kadri Gopalanath to tabla recital by Rajendra Nakode; bharatanatyam presentation by Vani Ganapathy to the jugalbandi between Gundecha Brothers (Hindustani style) and Malladi Brothers (Carnatic style).

At the other end of the spectrum, there will also be an amalgamation of Indian and international musicians in ‘Fusion Dreams’, an Indo-jazz contemporary fusion concert. A Hindustani vocal concert by Pandit Jasraj will be the highlight of the festival when he performs at the grand finale.

The programme is being conducted in aid of Samudhaya Foundation. It is being produced by Raj Events and supported by SVN Music Academy. For details, call 9886088869.
