Daughter accuses MLA of corruption

 A 34-year-old woman has alleged that her father, a Bharatiya Janata Party MLA from the Saurashtra region of Gujarat, is corrupt.

Rita Virani, an MBA, has filed an affidavit in a Surat court saying that her father—Kalubhai Virani, who represents Savarkundla in Saurashtra—had amassed over Rs 900 crore and made several benami investments. She also said that her father had stashed away black money in Swiss and Kiwi banks and invested in hotels in Singapore.

She made some remarks about her father's past alleging that he had murdered her step mother. Rita has asked the BJP to deny party ticket to her father in the next assembly elections, failing which she threatened to campaign against him.
