Mamata supports Hazare, says UPA govt in minority

Last Updated 30 October 2012, 11:58 IST

Announcing support for Anna Hazare's demand for immediate dissolution of Parliament, Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee today said the UPA government was a minority one with one party rule.

"This is a minority government and I totally agree with Hazare's demands made yesterday. The UPA government came to power with our support. After we left we wrote to the President that we have withdrawn support from the government. This is a Congress government now, not a UPA government," Banerjee told a press conference here.

"They don't have any right now as it is a minority government," Banerjee said.
Along with former Army chief General (retd) VK Singh, anti-corruption crusader Hazare had yesterday demanded immediate dissolution of Parliament.
